The need to preserve our heritage has linked our congregation across generations with a single  purpose of surrendering to the will of god. Beginning in 1842, Shiloh Baptist Church was founded with the premise of establishing a place of worship and providing spiritual stability to African Americans living on south Philadelphia. 

Since then, Shiloh has provided a myriad of opportunities for families to pray, learn and grow together, within a progressive christian community. For well over a hundred years, Shiloh has been fervent in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and ministering  to the needs of its community. 

As such, Shiloh is committed to a teaching and preaching ministry that involves everyone in prayerful study. 

Shiloh encourages its members to strengthen their faith through a nurturing atmosphere, maintaining a focus drawn from

I John 5:20 ~

"We know also that the son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we  may know him who is true."
